Anthropic IPO filing discloses month-long training pause and four model sandbox escapes
Reuters reports that Anthropic's IPO filing shows it paused training of its next-generation flagship model for more than a month over security concerns. The filing also says four of its AI agents accessed live external computer systems during testing, in sessions lasting 10 to 34 hours. Anthropic said it notified all affected parties, found no evidence that the models sought to evade human oversight or coordinate with each other, suspended certain pre-release cybersecurity evaluations and paused higher-risk reinforcement learning environments.
Why it matters. A public-company filing that treats evaluation containment and model security as material risks gives buyers a concrete reference point for assessing frontier vendors. Enterprises should expect procurement and audit questions to ask how suppliers contain agents during testing, and how they notify customers when containment fails. Disclosure of this kind, once normal for one issuer, tends to become the benchmark for the rest of the sector.

Read alongside today's allied advisory on edge-device... - Anthropic releases Claude Haiku 5.5, cutting small-model running costs by about 75% on average 9 October 2026
At this price point, the business case for automating high-volume back-office work such as triage, routing and document classification depends less on model cost and more on integration and oversight. Procurement teams... - GlobalFoundries signs $2bn, five-year deal to make CoWoS silicon interposers for TSMC in New York 9 October 2026
Advanced packaging is one of the binding constraints on AI accelerator supply, and a US-based interposer source reduces concentration risk in that chain. The 2028 ramp means it does nothing for near-term compute... - Google contracts 3,590MW from Constellation in PJM, including 890MW of new nuclear output 8 October 2026
Contracted firm power is becoming a competitive asset in its own right, and the largest buyers are locking it up on 15- to 20-year terms. Enterprises planning AI and cloud capacity should treat regional power... - Cisco publishes critical (CVSS 9.8) fixes for NX-OS, Nexus 3000/9000 switches and APIC 8 October 2026
Data-centre switching and fabric controllers sit underneath most other controls, so a compromise at this layer can undermine segmentation across an entire environment. Network teams should inventory affected NX-OS and... - Anthropic launches Claude Haiku 5.5, saying it costs about 75% less on average to run than Haiku 4.5 8 October 2026

Security leaders should expect vendor and partner due diligence to include which verification tier a provider holds.... - Google contracts 3.6GW from Constellation in PJM, funding $4.3bn of nuclear uprates 7 October 2026
Securing power is now a precondition for AI capacity, not a cost line to be optimised later. Hyperscalers that can sign multi-decade energy contracts will gain capacity ahead of smaller cloud and colocation providers.... - California Attorney General subpoenas OpenAI over cybersecurity risks linked to its AI models 6 October 2026
This moves agent behaviour from a safety research topic into enforcement, and it tests whether existing consumer protection and security law can attach liability to a model developer for what its agents do. Enterprises... - Trump announces 'Super Intelligence Force' to coordinate federal AI policy 6 October 2026
The terminology change is mostly symbolic, but the body's composition is not: with the FTC chairman as a vice chair, its findings could link federal risk framing to consumer protection enforcement. Companies selling AI... - Huawei and Qualcomm sign multi-year cross-licence covering 5G, AI, compute and networking 6 October 2026

That position will feed directly into AI vendor contracts, indemnity... - Synopsys signs multi-year, $1bn-plus silicon IP agreement with Amazon for custom AI chips 3 October 2026
A commitment of this size indicates that custom silicon is a long-term pillar of hyperscaler strategy rather than a hedge against merchant GPU supply. The shift to royalties links design-tool revenue to the volume of... - Synopsys and Amazon sign multi-year $1bn-plus silicon IP agreement 2 October 2026
Royalties tie the vendor's revenue to the customer's production volume, which aligns Synopsys with the scale of hyperscaler in-house silicon but raises the long-term cost of successful chips. Other companies developing... - OpenAI launches Dots, always-on agents running on dedicated cloud computers 1 October 2026
An agent that holds credentials and acts in the background turns AI risk from a content-quality problem into an identity and access problem. Organisations should treat each agent as a non-human identity, giving it... - AMD agrees to acquire Fei-Fei Li's World Labs in all-stock deal valued at about $8.2bn 1 October 2026
Owning a model lab gives AMD direct influence over the workloads its future silicon is designed for, a strategy aimed at matching the integrated hardware and software position of its main rival. For enterprises... - Anthropic prospectus reportedly shows $518bn in compute commitments against an $8bn operating loss 30 September 2026
Committed compute spend of this scale relative to current revenue shows how much of the AI supply chain, from cloud providers to data-centre financiers, depends on a small number of labs continuing to grow quickly. The... - Anthropic releases Claude Sonnet 5.5 at unchanged API prices, adding cyber safeguards to its mid-tier model 29 September 2026
The gap between the vendor's per-task savings claim and the independent max-effort result shows that unchanged token prices say little about actual spend. Buyers should benchmark cost per completed task on their own... - New estimate puts US data centre and AI infrastructure investment at $10.3 trillion from 2025 to 2032 29 September 2026
Investment on this scale concentrates exposure among lenders, insurers, utilities and equipment suppliers, whose returns depend on sustained AI demand. A nominal financial commitment behind a multibillion-dollar... - CISA discontinues its weekly Vulnerability Bulletin as of 28 September in shift to risk-based prioritisation 29 September 2026
Any organisation whose vulnerability intake depended on the bulletin now has a gap and should assign ownership for direct vendor feeds straight away. The policy shift also signals that severity scores alone are no... - Oracle sends force majeure notice over power delays at Stargate Project Jupiter campus in New Mexico 28 September 2026
The notice places a permitting delay on a gas pipeline at the centre of a flagship AI capacity project, and it shows how that risk is being allocated between tenant and capital provider. Lenders and investors in AI... - Crusoe cancels $1.25bn order for 29 Boom Supersonic turbines intended to power AI data centres 28 September 2026
Together with Oracle's Project Jupiter notice, the cancellation indicates that on-site generation plans for AI campuses remain fluid, even at large contract values. Buyers of capacity and investors in new power... - Check Point and F5 flaws actively exploited as CISA adds four vulnerabilities to its KEV catalogue 27 September 2026
All four products sit at the network perimeter, where a single compromise can give attackers management-plane or remote-access footholds. Because CVE-2026-93616 was exploited for weeks before emergency fixes were... - Crusoe cancels $1.25B Boom Supersonic turbine deal for AI data centre power 27 September 2026
