OpenAI releases GPT-6.1 Terra at 50% lower API price, aimed at computer-use work

Frontier AI Laurenceo Intelligence OpenAI · United States

A halving of price for a model built for computer use lowers the cost of automating routine office workflows. That should prompt enterprises to revisit build-versus-buy decisions for software agents and to tighten governance over what those agents can access and do. Cost is becoming a less binding constraint than oversight.

What Happened

OpenAI said GPT-6.1 Terra is rolling out to all Plus, Pro, Enterprise and Edu users in ChatGPT Work and Codex. 9to5Mac reports it is available through ChatGPT Work, Codex and the API.
