DigiCo signs 15-year, 71MW Sydney data-centre lease with unnamed global technology firm
A single tenant taking most of a major Sydney facility for 15 years shows how large buyers are locking up metropolitan capacity well ahead of need. Smaller colocation customers in the market should expect tighter availability. They should secure expansion rights and renewal terms early rather than assume headroom will exist.
What Happened
ASX-listed DigiCo signed a 15-year contract for 71MW of capacity at its SYD1 facility in Sydney with an unnamed global technology firm, backed by "investment-grade credit support." The facility, which will reach 88MW once upgrades and expansions are complete, is now 100 percent leased. The contract includes the reallocation of 20MW of existing contracted capacity to the new customer.
Why It Matters
A single tenant taking most of a major Sydney facility for 15 years shows how large buyers are locking up metropolitan capacity well ahead of need. Smaller colocation customers in the market should expect tighter availability. They should secure expansion rights and renewal terms early rather than assume headroom will exist.
