AI Across Bermuda's Sectors
AI in Bermuda is not only an insurance story. Hospitals, schools, the tourism authority, weather forecasters and retailers are all putting AI to work. This Laurenceo guide maps where AI shows up across Bermuda's economy, with a sourced example for each sector and a plain note where little has been published.

Healthcare
The Bermuda Hospitals Board's admissions, bed management, patient flow and discharge teams have worked with a simulation model that uses artificial intelligence to support decisions (HFMA). Bermuda's national health strategy includes a digital health agenda (Bernews). Health data is sensitive personal information, so any clinical AI must meet PIPA's strictest expectations; see PIPA and AI. Little else has been published about clinical AI in Bermuda.
Tourism
In October 2025 the Bermuda Tourism Authority said it was adding an AI chatbot to its website to build personalised itineraries, fed by listings on its BTAConnect platform and designed with a Bermuda voice (Royal Gazette). The BTA's marketing director said traveller use of AI tools such as ChatGPT was growing year on year. In May 2026 the BTA appointed Jan Hutton as chief executive, an executive with a background in destination marketing and AI strategy (Caribbean Journal). For visitors, AI answers now shape what they find about Bermuda before they search.
Education
In September 2025 the Minister of Education announced an AI-assisted reading tutor for public schools for the 2025-26 school year (Royal Gazette), and Chatmore International School became the first school in Bermuda to roll out Century's AI-powered learning platform (Bernews). Laurenceo found no published Ministry of Education policy on student use of generative AI. Adult and workforce AI education is covered in AI Jobs, Skills and Training.
Weather, Climate and Catastrophe Risk
The Bermuda Weather Service has described AI as another "tool in the toolbox" for forecasters, while noting that many AI models are new and still being assessed (Insurance Business). The Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences supports catastrophe risk research for the insurance market (BIOS), and AI weather models are changing how the market thinks about hurricane risk.
Consumers and Small Business
Bermuda-built AI assistants arrived in 2026. Rize Technologies' Compass AI answers local questions such as bus and ferry times on the web and WhatsApp (Bernews), and Ignite Bermuda's Spark AI coaches entrepreneurs (Bernews).
Laurenceo's View
Every sector here touches the same three questions: whose data is used, who checks the output, and who is accountable when it goes wrong. Bermuda's financial sector is answering them first under the BMA. Laurenceo's research and free tools apply just as well to a hospital, a school or a hotel. Laurenceo Intelligence follows AI in every Bermuda sector daily.
