Palantir's US commercial revenue passes US government revenue for the first time as quarterly sales top $2bn

Enterprise AI Laurenceo Intelligence Palantir · United States

The AI platform market is no longer carried by state budgets: a vendor with defence origins now earns more from US commercial customers, which signals that enterprise AI spending is moving from pilots to core operating budgets. Software incumbents and integrators selling workflow automation face a better-funded rival in the same accounts, and should test their positioning against Palantir's commercial momentum. Watch whether the commercial lead widens next quarter, and whether the muted share reaction means expectations are already priced in.

What Happened

Palantir beat Wall Street's third-quarter estimates after the bell on 2 November. CNBC reports that U.S. commercial revenue more than doubled and topped U.S. government revenue for the first time, and that total revenue nearly doubled year on year and passed $2 billion for the first time. Net income more than doubled to $1.13 billion, or 44 cents per share, from about $476 million, and shares dipped about 3% in extended trading.
